If you’re a fan of NASCAR, this project is for you. In cooperation with the team of Torrance, CA based Classic Tents, Aztec designed and constructed a mobile branding package for use at various sites throughout the NASCAR racing circuit.
The primary structure used for this project was a 25m x 25m Losberger Uniflex profile with full digital branding for the roof, gables and walls. Several smaller 20’ x 40’ Gable Ended frame branded units were also constructed for additional support of the larger structure.
The concept started with the idea of utilizing a unique branded unit that could be transported quickly and easily from track to track throughout the season. In place of moving all of the equipment from site to site, Classic Tents utilized its large regional inventories spread through various parts of the country to minimize the amount of freight that would have to be moved from site to site.
The initial installation of the units occurred for the Shelby 427 hosted at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday March 1st, 2009. Following the race the structure needed to be struck and the fabric transported to the Kobalt Tools 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway which was installed just days later. The complete package of tents and structures will be installed though various event sites throughout this year’s NASCAR season.
The full digital process used for the printing of the fabric allowed for the graphics to be printed directly to rolled vinyl which was then taken to production for final assembly. With graphics measuring up to 90’ in length, and multiple graphics being combined to form each panel, the printing and fabrication process was no easy task. Most of the clear vinyl walls were also branded using a frisket painting technique to apply the graphics that would be visible from both sides of the walls.
