The client of today gives notice of needing your services measured in hours and days which in times of past were measured in weeks and months. The climate in the special events marketplace has gradually come to this point as each of us becomes more flexible and eager to take on projects that test our own comfort level.

Aztec’s steadfast growth continued in 2010 with the addition of more than 200 new customers. This continued success can be attributed to dedicated campaigns in product development, customer service and price-competitive sales programs. These elements, combined with the most extensive field sales and service team in the industry made for a very successful year.
With the recent undertaking of a new independent study into the way commercial tents are ballasted when staking is not an option, the Tent Rental Division(TRD) of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) has stepped in to find answers to the questions once found “taboo” by most in our industry. At the recent IFAI Tent Expo, where the green light was given to fund and start the process of this study, there seem to be quite a bit of confusion about what this study will tell us and how the information will affect our businesses.
Aztec prides itself on providing unparalleled tenting products and outstanding customer service. To that end, we have recently made some personnel changes which we feel will provide our industry with a higher level of customer care and support. These changes include hiring additional outside sales support and redefining territories among our existing field personnel. As of January 1, 2011, the following changes have been made:
The IFAI-Tent Rental Division (TRD) Tent Expo 2011 was recently held at Tradewinds Resort in St. Pete Beach, FL January 24-27. This year’s theme “Work Hard- Play Hard” could have easily been changed to “Don’t mess with mother nature”
The show kicked Monday morning with the usual training sessions and seminars followed by the TRD annual golf outing. Most tent manufactures spent Monday afternoon driving stakes and setting baseplates getting ready for the 8:00am tent installation scheduled for Tuesday morning.
Aztec Tents has unveiled an entirely new web experience focused on driving business back to its customers. The new site, www.TidewaterTents.com was launched to correspond with Aztec’s ongoing advertising campaign, which aims to showcase “how much better a tent company can be.”
As we transition into the holiday months and prepare for the upcoming 2011 season, you will soon see a new brand awareness marketing piece coming to you in the mail. This new marketing piece highlights our company’s strength in being a partner with our customers in their everyday business lives. This piece includes a selection of our customers and features testimonials of why they "were smart to come under the Aztec roof".
There are many ways for you to promote your business. Often as business owners and operators, we find ourselves stuck with old habits and don’t take the sufficient time and energy to commit to marketing ourselves to reach our full potential. The common saying “Image is everything” is the quintessential phrase when you peek into the world of how to market your self and your company.
